Creating Guitar Tablature |

Is there an easy way to create fingerstyle guitar tablature? Something real easy like you play into a microphone and a tablature file is created?

Wouldn't THAT be nice?
I don't think that technology exists today. |

Just came across this thread whilst looking for other info.
I saw Bert jansch on the Acoustic Routes documentary in about 1994, playing into a microphone which was connected via MIDI to computer and it transcribed his playing there and then into standard staff notation. I've been looking for years but have yet to find the software. Apparently old ATARI computers were very good for this, dont know why they should be any better than others. I think it does exist, and i would still really like it! Can we revive this very old thread please? |

audio to midi | #3 | ||
|
Audio to midi tricky but I've found it to work pretty well with the program Harmony Assistant. It's a full-featured program that will make TAB,
engrave, play music etc. But it really is only accurate with a ONE NOTE MELODY. Multi-note, chords, and different instruments translated audio to midi is not
in the technology yet.
