I don't play it as fast as the default file though-- I slow it down to around 75%, and I emphasise the alternating bass parts. I prefer this to my ear. Thanks Paul!
So I realize that my typical playing with bare fingers on my tricone is leaving an important tone out of my canvas, so I am diving into the murky waters of getting some fingerpicks and a thumb pick on Thursday/Friday.
This will allow me to continue to play the guitar fingerstyle, and give me the overpowering volume that the tricone has.
What are the recommended thumbpick and finger picks?
I assume I will need 1 thumbpick and 3 fingerpicks (I don't use my pinky at all-- maybe as an anchor every now and then!).
Are fingerpicks placed under or over the nail?
They seem that they will slow me down considerably, but I find that when I play the tricone in open E/G I play more expressively with my phrasing than the usual busy work I do on my wodden guitars. So I don't think the learning curve with them will be too bad on the tricone-- I couldn't handle it with a wood guitar.
