...to the illegal immigrant problem. INS says they don't know where all these Mexicans are living and working, right? Why on earth would anybody leave it up to a federal agency to solve a problem like this. They just suck down billions of $$ and have no results to show for it.
The solution is really quite simple, and would not only work, but would generate money instead of costing the taxpayers. OK, first you establish a fine for hiring an illegal immigrant. Something that would get an employer's attention, like maybe $10,000 per illegal alien. Then, you give local law enforcement the power to enforce the law and fine the offending companies. Naturally, they know where all the mexicans work. Now, here's the kicker: you let the local cops keep the money generated by the fines they impose. I guarantee they will be all over it! Within a month no illegal mexican will be able to find a job anywhere in the United States.
