Well I just got back from a trip up north visiting family and friends after not seeing them for a little over two years. A friend of mine whom I had met via the web and had sent older used recording gear to, who lives in New Jersey, said he had an old Resonator laying around that he'd like to give to me as a thank you kinda thing. Well when I got to his house and we finally met in person, we then spent the day playing guitar. At around supper time he says, hey let me get you the resonator, well in my minds eye I'm thinking something like a yard sale or garage sale kinda Reso.
Well low and behold he brings in this guitar case and opens it up and says here ya go! What is it you might ask? I feast my eyes on an Original Duolian by Dobro that looks brand new other than 25yrs of dirt film on it and nasty old strings. Needless to say I broke out the glass cleaner and shined it right up and put new strings on it. Talk about one sweet sounding guitar. I have always wanted one of these and never thought I could either find one at a good price or just never afford one.
This is a metal bodied slot head with the palm trees and island scene etched/sandblasted in the body, with a biscuit bridge, it has the screw on bridge guard it is all original even with the registration card in the case.
Now I have to go spend some time in the woodshed at make myself worthy of this darling.
on edit: Here's pic's of my new 25yr old baby
