I'm looking to buy a new Larrivee. My choice has come down to the LV 09 vs the Larrivee LSV-11. The woods are the same, but the size specs differ. Besides
having a slightly smaller body, the LSV has a slightly wider string spacing (2.25 " at the bridge) and a thinner neck radius, both of which suit my style
of playing: unaccompanied finger picking, in the folk, spiritual, and ragtime genre.
Since you have to custom order the LSV, it's impossible to play before you buy, though there is a return policy. The specs, along with Larrivee's excellent (to my knowledge) reputation is tending me toward the LSV-11 sight unseen. That and the fact that I can buy one mint for under two grand. Any comments from experience? I'm mostly interested in the tonal qualities, not the action, since I know a pretty good luthier who can set the guitar up to suit me. __________________________________________________________ Acne Natural Cures Remedy mighty milk |

Larrivee "Islander". | #3 | ||
|
This example is no longer available, but used the same grade of wood as the LSV-11. The only difference is that the back/sides are koa which is no longer
offered on any Larrivee. You can see what it looks like if you Goolge Larrivee "Islander". Ed Roman requested to be made for his store in Las Vegas
and were made in the Pacific NW. I know the location of probably the last two available...hanging side by side in the same store.
