We all know about the importance of humidification. As an owner of a fine, all wood guitar and living in the desert I am constantly concerned about my guitar
drying out. I have had a good hygrometer in the case as well as a sponge/baggie and Oasis but I have been concerned that the hygrometer is working correctly.
On another forum a guy named Larry recommended the Springfield model at Walmart. I went ahead and got one and it agrees with the one that is in there that cost
me a lot more so my fear has subsided. I thought I might let you know how you can do the job and do it cheaply.

I find most of the humidity gauges out there are always questionable. There are digital humidty gauges from Radio Shack that I found work quite well too. But
the problem with any of them is that it's hard to know when they accurate without some independent cross comparison to check against. If they agree great,
if they don't, which one is off? But so far, the Radio Shack units seem to work the best. I have two of them and use them to check against each
other...since the do require batteries and it is unclear what happens when the batteries get weak.

Thanks for the info about the RS units but which ones, they have several as I recall. What I like about mine is that they are two different brands that agree
with each other. I check them every day and so far so good. Having two of one model suggests the possibility of them both being off the same amount. But yes,
tell us what model so we have some choice.
